Law enforcement agencies have arrested a high-profile terrorist who wanted to hit Islamabad with rocket launchers from Margallah Hills, according to Interior Minister Rehman Malik. The arrested terrorist might be a handler or an operator because his past record depicted his involvement in subversive activities. The investigation of the arrested terrorists would reveal more facts about the gang and its operation. The security in Islamabad should be further strengthened so that there are minimum chances of a terror attack.
On the other hand, the report that two residents of Mehre Jaffar neighbourhood allegedly shot dead a police constable in Golra. Police said they had had received a complaint against the two for beating and injuring a group of people belonging to the same area. Despite repeated calls, they had not turned up after which the constable was sent to bring them to the police station. However, when he insisted for them to come with him, they opened fire on him, killing him on spot.
Such incidents are nothing new and still we see no clear strategy regarding that particular area. The locals are afraid to go to Golra as it is considered as gangsters paradise. It seems that the police are also indirectly involved or they have no writ in that area. I would appeal to the higher authorities to catch these suspects who have killed a police constable and it is high time they clean up the mess.
