ISLAMABAD – Interior Minister Rehman Malik presented a preliminary report on the assassination of Minorities Affairs Minister Shahbaz Bhatti to Prime Minister (PM) Yousaf Raza Gilani at PM House on Thursday. The report contained facts and the circumstances which led to the minister’s assassination. Gilani said anti-state elements were making their last ditch efforts to destabilise the country by targeting important personalities. He said that the government would make foolproof arrangements to safeguard the lives and properties of the people, regardless of their beliefs, particularly to make sure that they could play their role in the development of the country.
