The people of Sindh and Karachi voted for their MPAs so that they could provide them security of life and private property, rule of law, improvements in health, better education, welfare and upholding of merit in recruitment. It has been more than three years that this coalition government is in power, both at the centre and in the province and yet all that we hear is mere excuses and irresponsible statements.
The statement by Sindh Home Minister glamorising gangsters does not augur well for the future of parliamentary democracy in Pakistan. Instead of passing resolutions against the PML(N) government in Punjab, it would be better if the government focused their attention on delivering to their electorate.
It would have been far better if a resolution had been moved against the horrendous target killings in Karachi, price escalation, crimes against women, rise in street crimes, financial scams, and continued neglect of those rendered homeless in recent floods.
The law and order situation has become very alarming in Karachi and the rest of the province. Even marriage receptions held in the centre of Karachi are being robbed while the police mobiles roam around with no sign of improvement.
