MURIDKE – Lahore and Faisalabad girls crushed their opponents on the second day of 6th National Women’s Sr. Cricket Championship, played here at the Lahore Country Club, Muridke. In the first match, Lahore women scored 232 runs in the allotted 50 overs against Peshawar. Sidra Amin (66), Namra Imran (51) and Malaqa Mansoor (29) shone with the bat. Ayshad Naeem took three wickets for Peshawar.
In response, Peshawar were unable to face the tight bowling and fielding of Lahore girls and were bowled out for just 56 runs in 27.3 overs. Namra Imran took four wickets for 16, while Sabahat Rasheed bagged two for just one run. Nosheen scored 14 runs for Peshawar. Namra Imran of Lahore was declared player of the match. In another match played at the same venue, Faisalabad scored 165 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs.
Uzma Younis (26), Rukhsana Kaousra (23) and Shagufta Perveen (16) were the top scorers. Sumiaya Siddiqi and Zaibunnisa took two wickets each for Hyderabad. In response, Hyderabad were bowled out for just 18 runs in 16.4 overs. Uzman Younis took four wickets for two runs, Marriam Shafiq bagged three for four and Sadia Yousuf took three for just 3 runs. Uzma Younis was declared player of the match.
