LAHORE – UK House of Commons Member Lord Nazir Ahmed on Saturday visited the Punjab University (PU) and called on Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr Mujahid Kamran at the varsity’s New Campus.
Matters of mutual interest and academic and research collaboration between the PU and British universities were discussed in the meeting. The VC briefed Nazir about the ongoing academic and research projects of the varsity and said that special focus is being given to research promotion and huge funds have been allocated for this purpose.
He said that the incumbent administration’s measures had improved the varsity ranking and now the PU is ranked 4th in the Higher Education Commission’s (HEC) ranking. Nazir appreciated the role of PU in promotion of quality higher education.
