LAHORE – The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) should stop hatching conspiracies against me and remember that next time there will no room for them to flee the country, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Chaudhry Moonis Elahi said on Thursday.
He was addressing party workers at the Allama Iqbal International Airport after returning to Lahore from abroad. Former Punjab CM Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi’s son was given a roaring welcome by party workers who had gathered to receive their leader who is heir of the Chaudhrys of Gujrat. Rose petals were showered on Moonis, as he made his way out of the arrival terminal. The MPA said that he was being implicated in the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) land scam just for victimisation.
“I am ready to face the charges and will prove my innocence before the court of law”, he said emotionally adding, “I am not among those who left the country to save their lives but have returned to face charges.”
Moonis said that he belongs to a family, which never allows enemies to run away and this time the PML-N had proved to be the PML-Q’s worst enemy just for political motives.
The PML-N leadership will not be able to face the wrath of PML-Q workers, he added. After seeing the huge crowd present to welcome him, the MPA said that he would face all fake and political motivated cases against him. He said that his warm welcome proved that the PML-Q is still popular among the masses.
The PML-Q leader said that they would provide another opportunity to their enemies to flee to Jeddah and he would soon expose the faces of conspirators against him in the NICL scam. Moonis said that his party respects the courts and did not attack them, as it believes in peace. He said that the PML-N leadership should only put that much pressure, which it could face itself. Party workers were carrying party flags, banners and posters inscribed with pictures of Moonis and chanted slogans in his favour and against the Punjab government.
orkers kept dancing to the beat of drums before arrival of Moonis. PML-Q workers from Hafizabad, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Kharian, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Kasur and Sargodha had gathered at the airport earlier in the day to welcome their leader. Moonis’ brother Chaudhry Rasik Elahi, Punjab Opposition Leader Chaudhry Zaheeruddin, MPAs Amna Ulfat, Seemal Kamran and others were also present on the occasion.
