SAHIWAL – Sahiwal Division Commissioner Qazi Muhammad Ashfaq paid a surprise visit to the district headquarters hospital and checked various facilities being provided to patients. He expressed his dismay over the poor condition of cleanliness as well as absence of medical staff and directed the medical superintendent to improve the performance of the hospital within 15 days otherwise strict administrative action would be taken.
He said the Punjab government was spending huge funds to provide health facilities to the poor and added that waste of resources due to negligence would not be tolerated at any cost.He also visited the dialysis centre set up by a philanthropist and appreciated the facilities provided there. He called the centre a model for the Punjab and ordered introduction of this type of public-private partnership centres in other hospitals of the division with the help of local community.
He asked the Sahiwal DCO to present him a comprehensive report on the affairs of the hospital within 15 days and suggested improvements in its service delivery. He further said that punctuality by the medical staff should be strictly observed and strict action taken against those who were not attending their duties properly.
MAN SENTENCED TO DEATH: Sahiwal District and Sessions Judge Abdus Sattar awarded capital punishment to an accused in a murder case.
Reportedly, Muhammad Tufail had murdered his father Muhammad Jameel over a property dispute.
Police submitted a challan in the court which awarded Muhammad Tufail capital punishment and a fine of Rs 100,000 . TWO ELECTROCUTED: As many as two people were electrocuted in the surroundings of Sahiwal in separate incidents due to the heavy rain. In the first incident, a 17-year-old girl Safdar Bibi, a resident of Chak No 18, received a severe electric shock and died instantly.
In the second incident, a labourer, Sher Muhammad, a resident of Kot Allah Din, received an electric shock and died on the spot. MOTORCYCLE, GOLD ORNAMENTS, CASH LOOTED: Robbers took away a motorcycle, gold ornaments, cash and mobile phones in three incidents and escaped.
In the first incident which happened in the district courts some unknown accused took away Waseem Hassan advocate’s motorcycle and fled away.
In the second incident which happened near Anjam Farms some unknown accused stopped Muhammad Qasim at gunpoint and looted cash and a mobile phone and escaped. In the third incident, Muhammad Anwar entered the house of Qari Talib Hussain, a resident of Chak No 6-11L, and stole gold ornaments, mobile phones and cash and fled away.
