LAHORE – Students of the University of Education on Tuesday protested against the unrest being created in the varsity by some students of the IT Department allegedly on the instigation of expelled director of the Science and Technology Division, Dr Anwaarur Rehman Pasha, according to a press release.
According to details, some students of the IT Department forced their way into other departments and started intimidating the students to join their protest. The miscreants also misbehaved with the teachers when they did not receive the response they were anticipating from the students.
A large number of students later gathered outside their departments and persuaded their teachers to continue with the classes. They condemned the actions of the handful of students who were disturbing the peace of the university and hampering the schedule of the classes.
In a meeting after the protest, the university management and student representatives decided that they would not allow anyone to spread unrest in the university. The university management has decided to hold a meeting on February 28 to finalise the display of date sheets for examinations of all departments, including IT Department.
