LAHORE – The Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) headed by National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) Inspector General (IG) Dr Wasim Kauser has promoted 37 Assistant Patrolling Officers (APO) to Patrolling Officers and 267 Junior Patrolling Officer(JPO) to Assistant Patrolling Officer.
According to a notification issued on Sunday, their promotion orders have been issued and IG NH&MP Dr Wasim Kauser and DIG Syed Ibne Hussain would pin up their promotion badges during ceremonies held at Police Lines headquarters Lahore and Islamabad during the coming week. IG NH&MP said NH&MP has adopted a merit based policy for promotion of police officials.
The IG while addressing a high level DPC meeting said that all possibilities of outside interference in the decision of promotions had been eliminated. He said, “Promotions are not automatic, they are based on merit, good job, exceptional performance and availability of vacancies.”
He further said that performance management of Police officers in their operational role is conducted through their Annual Reports that assess them on their competency, character and performance in their current ranks and posts.
