Raymond’s case demands professionalism

Raymond Davis has murdered two Pakistanis. He does not deserve any leniency from any quarters. But the way investigation officers of Punjab police made fun of Raymonds asking for water puts many question marks before the competence, seriousness and professionalism ought to have been observed by these officers.

Moreover, the report divulged by the CCPO, Lahore also appeared to have been flawed as it does not reveal as to why the two pillion riders were carrying fire arms, and what circumstances compelled the foreigner to shoot at them assumingly without any reason as if he had been mentally ill. So far, the federal government has behaved very sanely, it needs to exert pressure on the provincial government to behave and get the matter re-investigated by some serious and responsible officials so that miscarriage of justice may be avoided.

In this very case sensibility is required instead of cheap sentimentality. Neither should government give in to foreign pressure nor to unguided emotions.
