Woman murdered in a family feud

LAHORE – A woman was allegedly killed by her brother-in-law in Mustafabad police precincts on Friday. The deceased, identified as Tahira (40), a mother of two, was a resident of Dharampura. She contracted marriage with Muhammad Arshad four years ago. Tahira’s sister, Safia, was killed by Arshad’s family member, who was jailed later on. Police investigators told that Tahira was following her sister’s case, despite being pressurized by her in-laws not to follow the case.
Tahira was heading home after dropping her children to the nearby school when two armed motorists shot her; she died instantly. Tahira’s father said her husband got her killed, since he always pressurized her to withdraw the case. Police have registered a case against the accused, Amjad, and have started probing in the matter.
SUICIDE: A eunuch committed suicide in Nawankot police precincts on Friday. He tied a noose around his neck and hanged himself with the ceiling fan. The deceased, identified as Waseem Masih, a resident of Nawankot local quarters, had a scuffle with his friend and resultantly was depressed. His friends broke in the room he had locked himself in and found him swinging, hanging by the fan. Police, after completing the formalities, also handed over the body to its heirs.
FIRE ERUPTED: Fire erupted in a plastic making factory in Sherakot police precincts, owing to short circuiting, resulting loss of millions. Rescue 1122 fire fighters reached the spot and extinguished the fire in half hour. The factory owner Kamran said valuables worth Rs 0.2 million turned to ashes. However, the fire claimed to death.
ACCIDENT: A man was run over by a car in Satuqatla police precincts on Friday. The locals impounded the car driver and handed him to the police. The deceased, identified as Haq Nawaz, originally from Bahawalpur, resided in Green Town Lahore. He was cycling his way to work when a car knocked him down at Shahbaz Chowk. He was rushed to the hospital where he died.
