Traditional schooling

When we talk about the educational problems in Pakistan, the traditional schooling system is a great problem.

Students are not allowed to discover, explore and experiment in this method of teaching. Students are forced to sit on the same chairs for approximately six hours a day. As a result they lose their interest in their studies.

Children should get some classes for their own exploration in which they can learn from their teachers and friends. Learning can never take place in isolation whereas our schooling system does not offer cooperative learning opportunities to the students.

Cooperative learning is a strategy in which students work through the assignments until all group members fully understand it. If we apply this strategy from the beginning classes, they would not face any problem in their real life later on.

It will enhance their confidence and help them in working together in every field of life. On the other hand, we observe in our society that teachers dont appreciate the students ideas.

They discourage them in many ways. As a result their thinking habit is stopped and they give their attention towards other activities rather than studies.

Teaching through exploration should be promoted in order to create an independent and responsible learner. Students should be free to give their opinions and suggestions in front of their teachers or public.
