Recently a new bill has been introduced in the national assembly by a member of one of the leading political parties of the country. This bill envisages prohibition of illegal manufacturing and trade of weapons.
This is an extraordinary move considering the security situation of the country. The bill, if approved and implemented in its true letter and spirit, will improve the overall security situation of the country.
The role of police in this matter would be of great value. Police being the primary law enforcement agency of the country can actually help in the proper implementation of the law and can rid the country of illegal weapons. In order to promote peace and harmony, it is important that the citizens should cooperate with police and other law enforcement agencies and play their respective roles.
