It is a usual practice in the police department that the staff is subjected to long hours of work without any break. Especially, the officers and staff assigned to VIP duties and on other sensitive assignments are found complaining. This is mostly due to the shortage of manpower in the police. The police force of Pakistan is estimated to have 350,000 personnel for the population of 170 million. This low number of staff presents hindrances in controlling the prevalent law and order situation of the country. On top of this, extra work creates an additional stress for the police staff.
