Although a lot of criticism is being done against government and the President for the supposed failure of holding meaningful inquiry in the case of BBs assassination, but it cannot be ignored that it was this government who called upon Scotland Yard and the UN for conducting investigation.
These are the institutions known for their integrity and efficiency and do not suffer from the bane of corruption. Therefore, it is to be considered that if the closest ones had not been serious about it, they would not have made international agencies involved in the probe.
Furthermore, government is not considering anybody exempted from inquiry. Just a few days ago, two important persons of our law enforcing agencies are being had their bails quashed and called in for investigation. Benazir was a leader of international stature, so the probe into the cause of her death demands careful and sustained efforts in capturing the culprits. This is something that demands patience and fair treatment.
