ISLAMABAD – PML-N’s Nawaz Sharif is making hostile statements against Muthidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) because he is afraid of party’s growing popularity among the youth and people of the middle class. Tahir Khokhar, AJK Minister for Tourism and Parliamentary leader of MQM in AJK Legislative Assembly said in a press conference here on Monday.
“Politicians like Nawaz Sharif, who are accustomed to politics of money, are afraid of MQM’s growing popularity among the youth and in the ranks of middle class in Punjab and AJK, so Nawaz failing to digest that has started making acrimonious statements against MQM leadership”, Tahir said.
He said Nawaz should never forget that military dictator Ziaul Haq was his ‘mentor’ who had brought him into power. “Nawaz, instead of commenting on Karachi’s situation, should rather think as to why poor people in Punjab are committing suicide”, he said adding that Sharif brothers accumulated wealth through ‘corruption’.
