‘Enemies try to sabotage country in holy months’

GUJRANWALA – State Minister for Interior Affairs Tasnim Qureshi has said that enemies of the state always tried to sabotage the sovereignty of the country especially during the holy months of Muharram and Rabi-ul-Awwal but masses should cooperate with the government to maintain law and order and for religious harmony.
He said this while talking to the journalists after attending funeral prayer of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Gujranwala City President Lala Muhammad Idrees who died during his visit at the shrine of Hazrat Baba Farid Ganj Shakr.
The dirty politics of abusing and blaming had been affecting politics of reconciliation and Rana Sana Ullah always looked busy in sabotaging the political system in the country, he said adding that PPP leadership had prohibited its ministers and workers to respond such elements.
He paid rich tribute to Lala Muhammad Idrees and said that his death would certainly affect the party in Gujranwala. PPP Central General Secretary Jahangir Badr said that WikiLeaks disclosures could neither affect PPP nor the coalition government in centre.
Proclaimed offender arrested: Gujranwala Police arrested a proclaimed offender Habib near Kamonki while the criminal’s accomplice severely injured a Police Constable Zulfiquar Ahmad. The police sources said that their raiding party arrested Habib from suburban area of Kamonki after getting information.
Some accomplices of Habib ambushed the raiding party and managed to escape. A cop Zulfiquar Ahmad sustained bullet injuries during the exchange of firing and was hospitalized.
Magistrate announces 7-year imprisonment for robbers: A judicial magistrate announced seven-year imprisonment and fifty thousand rupees fine each for three bank robbers. Reportedly, Naveed, Imran and Zahid robbed Rs two million from a bank at GT Road and were arrested by the Model Town Police.
Judicial Magistrate Ch Naveed Akhter awarded imprisonment and fine to all of them.
