Education and training are the two words which are widely used and even more than any other words in the writings of an academic or in any professional discipline. Both have somewhat similar dictionary meaning, and at times are used interchangeable since their meanings overlap.
But these words and their implications mean nothing for the police education/training system. Neither do the police have proper education, nor do they have proper training. It is imperative to make this differentiation and train and educate the police. These trainings must aim at capacity building of the countrys police so that the trust deficit between the police and the citizens may be mitigated.
As a concerned citizen, I am writing on this pressing issue as the police force plays a vital role in our societies today and they have a huge responsibility on their shoulders. Thus, I hope that the government will think about taking the requisite steps in this regard.
