According to a US embassy cable leaked by WikiLeaks, it is revealed that Saudi Arabia has a major stake in the politics of Pakistan. The leaked cable clearly quotes the Saudi ambassador to US Adel Al Jubeir saying that we in Saudi Arabia are not observers in Pakistan, we are participants.
This is an alarming revelation, because the country that has always claimed sovereignty from external influence is under the influence of an apparently brotherly Muslim state. The facts also point towards the involvement of Saudi government in exile of Nawaz Sharif after the military coup. We need to review our relationship with our friends and allies once again, because too much participation is intrusion, which is certainly not needed.
