LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Punjab President Chaudhry Imtiaz Safdar Warraich has said that the political climate in the province has changed and PPP will launch a massive public contact campaign after Moharram.
He said the PPP public contact move would prove a final nail in the opponents’ coffin as the ‘shallow castle’ of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was in ‘shambles’ and there was a need to just push the first wall. He said that they would not tolerate any more ‘drama of good governance’ and expose all malpractices.
He said the time had come to become victorious in Punjab so ‘Jialas’ have to decide whether they wanted to stay in Punjab politics in a triumphant manner or struggle for the survival under the rule of political rivals. Newly appointed PPP Punjab President was addressing the dinner party arranged in his honor by the president PPP Kuwait Attique Adnan and Javaid Akhter at a local hotel on Tuesday night.
Punjab General Secretary Sami Ullah Khan, Secretary Information Dr Fakhr ud Din Chaudhry, Beelam Husnain, Faiza malik, Tahir Khalique, Provincial ministers Ashraf Sohna, Haji Ishaq, Ch Asghar, Aurangzeb Barki, Yaqub Kamahan and other were also present.
ELECTION POLITICS: Warraich made clear to his party leaders and workers that PPP in Punjab could not regain glory by just chanting slogans, instead of this its workers should do election politics and provincial body of PPP has initiated the required political moves.
He said that PPP has suffered because of joining coalition government in Punjab but was tolerating all the erroneous in persuasion of its policy of reconciliation. He, however, made it clear that PPP has to face leaguers in the next elections once again hence party workers must start their homework immediately.
He said, “Our politics is full of hypocrisy, N league itself supported 18th amendment in the constitution and approves it from parliament, Senate and even national assembly too but when in the later stage, the amendment was challenged in Supreme Court, Punjab attorney General argued against it. Similarly Punjab CM signed levy of Reformed General sales tax (RGST) proposal in the Council of Common Interest (CCI) meeting but now is acting against it.”
Warraich said he was making air travels but since he was the president of PPP Punjab, he would travel along with party workers in trains and public transport.
PUNJAB ON SALE: Commenting on the PML-N politics in Punjab, he said that they have put at sale the province and all the public sector educational institutions were being distributed among friends and chums. He disclosed that PPP bodies in the province have been directed to publicize and criticize the wrong doings of Punjab government so that masses could see the real face of PML-N.
He said that there were PPP ministers in the Punjab cabinet but provincial government did not belong to PPP. He reiterated the stance that they would continue pointing out wrong doings of Punjab government.
