LAHORE: A ‘civil disobedience movement’ would be launched if the Reformed General Sales Tax (RGST) was imposed,.Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan warned on Friday.
PTI chief expressed these views while addressing a big rally taken out under the auspices of party Punjab chapter leadership against RGST, price hike, unemployment and increase of fuel prices. A good number of people and workers of PTI attended the rally. The participants of the rally were also holding banners and placards.
The rally was started from the GPO chowk and after marching on the Mall road it concluded in front of the Punjab Assembly building. PTI chief Imran Khan led the rally and the party senior leadership was also present on that occasion. The participants of the rally also raised anti-government slogans.
Addressing the participants Imran Khan said that this rally will prove the first drop of rain against the rulers that wanted to put extra burden on masses in form of taxes to have more luxuries. But the people of the country have seen their true face and this time the masses will not allow the rulers to use the masses as escape goat, he added.
He also said that those not paying the taxes should be brought into tax net to strengthen the national economy as why only the poor people of the country always targeted.
