ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik’s insatiable appetite for publicity on Friday compelled him to ask one of his subordinates to interview him for the state-run Pakistan Television.
Soon after the Senate session was prorogued on Friday, Malik went to the PTV cameraman deputed for the coverage of Senate proceedings in the corridor of the building.
When informed that he was alone and there was no reporter available, Malik asked his own subordinate, Asim Ali Nawazish, to hold the mike and interview him.
All the senators, journalists and other parliament staff leaving the corridor were astonished at the least at the interior minister’s ludicrous act, and some people even passed negative remarks over the minister’s obsession with media projection.
