ISLAMABAD: National University of Modern Languages (NUML) Lahore campus Director Saeed Ahmad allegedly got appointment on the basis of an invalid degree.
This was stated in a confidential letter (copy available with Pakistan Today) addressed to rector NUML in which the director general of the university expressed serious reservations about Regional Director Lt Col (Retd) Saeed Ahmed’s appointment.
The letter pointed out that the regional director produced an MBA degree without which he was not eligible for appointment. “The institute, School of Management Studies, which issued the degree, is not recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC),” the letter stated.
The letter further divulged that appointment of Saeed Ahmed for four years was made in ‘blatant violation’ of NUML rules.
“Rector is not the competent authority to make appointment without going through the selection process duly approved by the Board of Governors,” the letter further pointed out.
HEC Director General (Accreditation and Attestation) Rahim Bux Channa confirmed that School of Management Studies was not recognized by HEC.

  1. NUML is going to see it's worst of the times in coming days. There is an evident clash between the University's rules and HEC regulations. The army's backing puts all laws and principles into the dust bin. The former head of the English department Col. Javed Ahmed, for example, arranged the "Open Book" examination for the wife of the previous rector, Brig. Aziz Ahmed Khan, once she was rebuked by the invigilators on using unfair means during the exam. Jeved Ahmed took Mrs. Aziz Ahmed Khan to her husband's office where she completed the re3st of the paper with the help of text books.
This is the end of respect and credibility of educators at NUML.
