Road bumps

It is a strange fact that we do not pay any importance to the communication network. The condition of the roads all over Pakistan is not good and should put the government to shame. But this is nowhere so magnified than in the provincial capital, Lahore. Anywhere you travel on a road, you will counter more than just one bump or crater. Not more than 100 metres pass safely when you would have to face a patch, road bump, speed breaker, crater or anything from a simple road digging to sewage leakage.

The authorities are so observant that months pass by when they realise there is something wrong with the road. Take an example of the Ferozpur Raod of the city. Supposedly, it was being made a model road. What really happened was that they just put some road signs, boards, some plants, and new signals on the road. Nothing else, literally. And it cost the government more than Rs 70m. The road users had to face difficulties, like dust, crush, longer traffic jams, damage to the vehicles and many others.
