We have heard of three kinds of adamant attitudes or hutt known as Raj-hutt, Ball-hutt and Tirya-hutt representing an adamant ruler, a child and a woman. However, Pakistan is suffering from a fourth kind of adamant attitude of some political parties which can be named Siasi-hutt. It is said in the Holy Quran that some tribal leaders did not accept Islam only because they had refused in the first instance to accept the message.
It appears the same kind of hutt is being displayed by the ANP and Sindhi political parties, especially the nationalist ones, in refusing to agree to build Kalabagh dam that would have solved all our problems of power and water shortage.
It would have given us benefit of at least two billion US $ per year since 1993 when it could have been built thus benefiting us 36 billion US $ worth of power and crops. We would have been free of IMF clutches and masses would have heaved a sigh of relief. But this was not to be due to our being ungrateful wretches.
