Zapping the consumers

The governments decision to increase the electricity tariff by another two percent is surely an electric shock for the consumers. This increase has proved to be a bomb for the consumers who are already facing many economic difficulties. Rising inflation, increasing prices of commodities, petroleum products and others have put the middle and lower middle class of the society under huge pressure.

One wonders if the decision is entirely for the good of the country as it is being dictated by IMF and World Bank. These financial institutes have no concern for the countrys poor populace. All they care for is their interest rates on the loans they proffer to a country in need. The government must look for new ways to generate electricity and avoid foreign donors and loan providing agencies.
