The visit of the US President Barack Obama to India has an interesting lesson for Pakistan. Now that Obama has made it clear that he would prefer India over Pakistan, it seems Manmohan Singh will get the candy and Gilani would be getting green with jealousy.
There is every chance, as the news reports suggest, that the US and India will sign new defence contracts. Whereas India is preparing to buy 126 fighter jets, Pakistan is happy to get a batch of only 18 jets, which also seems to be a favour from the super power. Unless we put our own house in order, there is no chance we can deal with India or US on equal footing.
