Internet on the move

Most people are under the impression that when it comes to email and internet on the mobile, then Blackberry is the solution. Reality is far from it but sadly the mobile companies are not projecting it correctly either.

Many countries have stopped Blackberrys one or more services, particularly the email service and messenger service. Once you start using Blackberry on a particular mobile operator, you get stuck with them because all your data is sitting on their servers.

The monthly charges for these services are much higher than unlimited data packages offered for GPRS and Edge services by most operators.

Because you are tied to your mobile operator, if you travel abroad you either pay whopping roaming charges or stay without data services.

On the other hand, you can perform all these tasks with an average internet enabled phone. You can check emails, browse the web, use a number of internet connected applications such as those for Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks, and you can chat with your friends on IMs.

Some smartphones even provide an endless range of applications that can give you every possible kind of information on the move. For example, you can get free maps and navigation directions using these cell phones. And, you do not pay anything extra for these services. You can switch your mobile operator as per your need without worrying of having your data saved on their servers.

The users can access their business data, watch videos, browse the web, send and receive emails with attachments, chat with work colleagues, and even search and download songs while driving.

So what would you use?
