ISLAMABAD: PML-N Senator Pervez Rashid on Friday rejected the formation of a united Muslim league, saying all leaders who had formed the alliance lacked principle.
“Our party has some principles and the men who announced the Muttahida Muslim League at Kingri House follow no democratic principle in their politics,” he said, adding that all these leaguers had accepted the October 12 unconstitutional step of the former military dictator.
He said the leaders who were trying to unify various factions of PML had been close aides of former president Pervez Musharraf and supported all his unconstitutional steps. “They even did not support the restoration of judiciary wholeheartedly,” he added.
The PML-N senator said the PML leaders should first tell the nation why did they disintegrate the PML in the past and launched their own factions. “They should also tell the nation about their motives behind the unification move,” he said.
