Discrimination on the basis of wealth and influence in the echelons of power is an unavoidable part of our society. In every sector of our life, we have two classes; one for bourgeois and the other for the poor. We have two categories in hospitals, educational institutes, transport, banks, trains and many more. One can go on and on but this list would not end.
Some days ago I visited NADRA office in Rawalpindi Saddar area. More than 100 people were in a queue waiting for their turn. A person came there with two security guards on a costly car. One of the attendants from office welcomed him and took him inside the office without any token.
When we agitated against this, the staff told us that he wanted use swift service of NADRA where one has to pay rupees 1000 instead of normal fee. I was shocked to see the faces of all those poor who were in queue.
I was expecting that these institutes would provide facilities to all Pakistanis without any discrimination but they indulge themselves in the traditional approach of our government institutes.
