There has been a recent outbreak in dengue cases in Lahore. Not only is it due to a lack of proper sanitation in the city, but also due to a lack of awareness in the citys people. It is the health departments responsibility to spread awareness and ensure that proper care (like medicines) is available. Needless to say that prevention is better than cure. Not only the government but NGOs and private organisations should make an effort to distribute goods like nets, mosquito repellents and other such things that will keep the outbreak at bay. It is imperative that the people should know about the spread and prevention of the disease so the government does nor have another problem on its already full hands. The health of the citizens should eb a top priority but sadly, the authorities take note only when the problem devolves into a more serious matter.
