LAHORE: An accountability court handed over Muhammad Mansoor Khan to the National Accountability Bureau on physical remand till Nov 3.
NAB had arrested the accused on Tuesday from the accountability courts when he came there to attend the proceeding of another reference. The accused was the director of Cash Gold (Pvt) Ltd.
He has been charged with the embezzlement of 16.6 million rupees. According to a NAB official, Muhammad Mansoor used to invest the money of others on the promise of great returns. Initially he did pay the promised returns to the investors but ceased all payments after a short period of time.
Nisar Ahmad pays Rs 8.7 million as plea bargain: An accountability court on Wednesday released former director Wapda Retired Officers Co-operative Society (WROCS) Nisar Ahmad on the basis of plea bargain. Nisar has been accused of embezzling millions from the funds deposited by the members of the WROCS.
Nisar offered to pay 8.7 million rupees as ’embezzled amount’ as a plea bargain, which was approved by the chairman of the National Accountability Bureau. As per the agreement, the accused paid 34 percent to the NAB as down payment.
Ahmad Sadiq adjourned till November 13: An accountability court adjourned the hearing of the reference filed against former Principle Secretary to Prime Minister (Benazir Bhutto) Ahmad Sadiq till November13. The reference against Ahmad Sadiq was filed on the grounds that he misused his position for personal benefit.
