Karachi has always been tumultuous and subject to the whims of the political parties that have turned it into a battleground for their political ends. But the recent bloodbath in Karachi pains me as the coalition government that took over was supposed to iron out the political differences that were plaguing Karachi with unrest and instability.
Once known as the City of Lights, it was bright with colour and candescence but now it is at the mercy of the turf wars of the influential parties in the city. The breakdown of governance in the city is indicative of the breakdown of law and order at large in the country. If the government cannot protect its people, then what is it doing? I implore the government to do something about the Karachi situation on an emergency basis as the people of Pakistan are losing their lives. It is high time that the government took appropriate action.
