Professor Khursheed Nadeem stated on Tuesday, while speaking at a programme `An Hour with a Guest’ arranged by Islamabad police, that only a polite and courteous attitude can win the hearts of the public and law enforcement agencies have to respect social values and establish good relations with the people.
According to a press statement, Islamabad police often invite prominent personalities to deliver lectures to their officials so that they can understand the need to ensure a friendly environment that can bridge the gaps between the police and the public.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Kaleem Imam, Senior Superintendent of the Police (SSP) Dr. Moeen Masood, SSP Headquarters Ashfaq Ahmed Khan, SP Saddar Dr. Khuram Shehzad and SPs Jameel Ahmed Hashmi and Umer Hyat were also present.
Prof. Khursheed Nadeem said that policemen should be the guardians of public rights. “They should improve the image, help the innocent and enhance their tolerance levels to win the public support.”
Kaleem Imam said that the purpose of arranging such programs is to make the Islamabad police more cooperative with the public. He said that responsible police officials were invited to attend this lecture so that they may inculcate community policing while maintaining law and order.
