Sindh WWF accused of misappropriating Rs 160 million

ISLAMABAD - Development funds of around Rs 160 million were allegedly misappropriated by Workers Welfare Fund (WWF) Sindh Chapter, the National Assembly Standing Committee on Labour and Manpower was told Friday. LAHORE - Federal Minister for Environment Samina Khalid Gurki visited the World Wide Fund for Nature Pakistan (WWF Pakistan) Head Office on Tuesday for a briefing on various conservation and environmental projects which have been organised by the WWF Pakistan Director General Ali Hasan Habib.
WWF Pakistan has entered its 41st year of conservation in Pakistan. This was Gurki's first visit to the organisation after becoming the Federal Minister for Environment.

KARACHI - The government has kept issuing show cause notice to the mutual funds for the sub judice matter of not making contributions to the Workers' Welfare Fund (WWF). "There have been instances whereby show cause notices under Section 221 of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 have been issued to a number of mutual funds for the recovery of WWF," Arif Habib Investments told its shareholders at Karachi Stock Exchange.

Lords School wins at WWF carnival

LAHORE - The WWF Carnival was held at the Jillani Park on February 13. The event focused on raising awareness among people regarding wildlife and endangered species.
The Lords International School System participated in this event with 3D models on various themes, and won the first prize on the topic, 'Solid Waste Management' and second prize in 'in-campus personalized plantation' and 'adopt a tree for birds' habitat.'
