US central command commander visits Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - Central Command Commander Gen. James Mattis visited Pakistan to consult with Pakistan's military leadership.

Shahbaz visits Lahore Book Fair

LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday visited the Lahore Book Fair, which is being organised with collaboration of the Punjab government.
More than 160 publishers from India, Pakistan, UK and the US are participating in the book fair with more than 200 stalls.

NOC condition for artists’ foreign visits withdrawn

Nepalese CJ visits Punjab Judicial Academy

LAHORE - Chief Justice of Nepal Ram Prasad Shreshta on Saturday visited the Punjab Judicial Academy and learnt about the training process of judicial officers in Pakistan. Punjab Judicial Academy Director General Justice (r) Tanvir Ahmed Khan briefed the Nepalese CJ and other members of his delegation about the functioning and achievements of the academy. Gates visits crucial Afghan battleground

SANGIN - US Defense Secretary Robert Gates visited the key battleground of southern Afghanistan Tuesday to meet troops ahead of the planned start of foreign force withdrawals from July. Flying into the country on Monday, Gates said that US and coalition forces are "well-positioned" to begin a gradual drawdown in four months' time but he has not given a number for how many US personnel could leave then.

LOS ANGELES - Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple, has reportedly visited a cancer treatment clinic. Jobs, 55, who has been on medical leave since last month, was seen at the Stanford Cancer Centre in Palo Alto, California, according to celebrity news website.

SBP, FBR officials spent Rs 24m on visits abroad, Senate told

ISLAMABAD - The Finance Ministry on Friday apprised the Senate of the fact that the officials at the State Bank of Pakistan and the Federal Board of Revenue cost Rs 24 million to the national exchequer on their visits abroad.
