GENEVA – Up to one million Ivorians have now fled fighting in the main city Abidjan alone, with others uprooted across the country, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) said on Friday in a sharp upwards revision of previous estimates.

ISLAMABAD – An over speeding vehicle of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights (UNCHR) hit a motorcyclist in the limits of Industrial Area police station on Monday.

ISLAMABAD – The Somali refugees on Monday staged a protest demonstration against the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the affiliated NGOs accusing them of violating their fundamental human rights in Pakistan.
A large number of refuges, including women and children, gathered in front of the Diplomatic Enclave in the federal capital and participated in the demonstration which lasted for four hours.

GENEVA – The UN refugee agency said Sunday that about 100,000 foreign migrants, mainly Egyptians and Tunisians, have fled Libya to neighbouring countries during the past week of turmoil.
“UNHCR emergency teams are working with Tunisian and Egyptian authorities and NGOs (non governmental organisations) to support the migrants,” officer of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees said in a statement. The Red Crescent said the migrants entered at the Ras Jedir post on Saturday.
