Two Chinese engineers dead as mine collapses in Muslim Bagh

QUETTA - Two Chinese engineers were killed in a mine-related accident in Killa Saifullah district on Sunday. According to reports, the Chinese engineers were busy in mining of chromites in Muslim Bagh area when the mine caved, which resulted to their instant death. The dead bodies were recovered from the debris and shifted to Quetta for onward dispatch to their country. The victims are identified as Konjxing Shen and Zhohjias Isheg.

FAISALABAD - Faisalabad Police, during a snap checking, stopped an auto-rickshaw and arrested a terrorist and recovered two hand grenades from him. According to details, Lorry Addah police ordered the driver of an auto-rickshaw coming out of the local bus stand to stop for checking. ISLAMABAD - Two Sindh High Court (SHC) judges, Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany and Justice Amir Hani Muslim, will today (Monday) take oath as permanent judges of the Supreme Court. President approves appointment of two SC judges, SHC CJ

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday approved the appointment of Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany and Justice Amir Hani Muslim as permanent judges of the Supreme Court and Justice Mushir Alam as the Sindh High Court chief justice.
According to a senior SC official, both SC judges would be administered an oath next week, most probably on Tuesday.

Two killed in separate road accidents

MURIDKE - A youth and an elderly man were killed in separate road accidents in Muridke.
In the first accident, a tractor-trailer crushed five-year-old Noshki near Muridke Railway Station when she was playing in a street.
Muridke police are conducting raids to arrest the driver who left the scene after the incident. In the second accident, a 60-year-old man was killed after falling down from a speedy motorcycle-rickshaw while going to Manoonabad from Muridke.

QUETTA - Gun violence on late Wednesday night left two people killed and one man wounded in an incident of targeted killing, police said. The shooting took place when armed men riding a motorbike attacked on a photostat shop in Shahbaz Town area. Both the dead men, identified as Mohammad Iftikhar and Najamul Saqib, were brothers.

LAHORE - The Himalayan black bear at the Lahore Zoo successfully bred for the third time in Lahore Zoo, giving birth to two healthy cubs. Though the cubs were born on January 28, 2011, Zoo veterinarian Dr Zaib Mahel told Pakistan Today that they could not approach the bear for security reasons.
