Russia, US to train Kyrgyz to counter militants
BISHKEK - Russia and the United States will build separate training centres in southern Kyrgyzstan to counter the threat to regional security from Islamist militants, Kyrgyz President Roza Otunbayeva said on Tuesday.

Railway track bombings in Sindh suspend train services for hours
KARACHI: A series of small bomb blasts on upcountry railway tracks in different places in Sindh disrupted train services from Karachi to other parts of the country on Friday morning.
Six low-intensity blasts in Karachi, Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Ghotki and Panu Aqil damaged the tracks and brought train services to a complete halt for many hours. The train services were restored on Friday evening after railway engineers finished repairs.

Jobless hafiz-e-Quran commits suicide by jumping before train
GUJRANWALA - A 26-year-old hafiz-e-Quran, Hafiz Tayyab committed suicide by jumping before a Lahore-bound Malikwal Express train the other day. DASKAL Five people were killed and another four injured when a train collided with a rickshaw near the Uggoki area of Sialkot district on Friday. The train was headed to Sialkot from Wazirabad when it hit the rickshaw trying to cross the un-gated railway crossing in Jalianwala area of Uggoki. US to train 1,000 Pakistani women, provide $2b military aid

The US will train 10,000 Pakistani women in various fields and provide $2 billion in foreign military assistance to Pakistan.
US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton and Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureishi held a joint press conference after the end of a third round of US-Pakistan strategic talks on Friday. The announcement of military assistance, which will be delivered over five years from 2012 to 2016, came at the opening of the talks.
