LAHORE - The Pakistan Cricket Board plans to rest some of the senior players for the upcoming series against the West Indies, while wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal seems to have lost favour with the board officials. KARACHI - Pakistan World Cup captain Shahid Afridi has withdrawn from next month's tour to West Indies, a source at the national cricket board told Reuters on Thursday.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) source, who declined to be identified, said the 31-year-old all-rounder had made himself unavailable for the tour which starts on April 18.

Pakistan to tour Zimbabwe in Aug
LAHORE - The Pakistan team will tour Zimbabwe for a full series in August this year. According to an official of the Pakistan Cricket Board, the team will play not only one-day internationals but would also play Test matches in Zimbabwe.
The PCB official said the three ODIs and two Test matches would most likely be played in Harare and Bulawayo.

Tour de Pak cyclists honoured as Sabir clinches top slot
LAHORE - The city district government at Abbottabad held a reception in honour of thecyclists participating in the 16th Tour De Pakistan International Cycle Race that concluded on Sunday evening.
The cyclists after covering a distance of 1660 kilometres reached Abbottabad in eleven stages. Mohammad Sabir Hussain of WAPDA was the overall leader and won the 16th edition of the race. Sabir completed the journey from Karachi to Abbottabad in 44 hours, 35 minutes and 45 seconds.
