Chinese PM arriving today

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and China will hold high-level talks today (Friday) on the expansion of bilateral trade and cooperation in civil nuclear energy, as the Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao arrives in the Pakistani capital for a three-day visit.
The Jiabao will hold discussions with his Pakistani counterpart Yousaf Raza Gilani soon after he arrives.
The Chinese prime minister will also meet President Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan's military leadership during his visit.

IHC starts working without judges today

ISLAMABAD: The re-established Islamabad High Court (IHC) will start partial functioning today (Monday) by beginning admitting cases, a senior official of the Law Ministry told Pakistan Today on Sunday.

ISLAMABAD: The newly constituted four-member bench of the Supreme Court will hear toady (Monday) contempt charges against the superior courts' former judges who took oath under the PCO in November 2007. The bench comprises Justice Mahmood Akhtar Shahid Siddiqui, Justice Jawwad S Khawaja, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Tariq Parvez.
