TEHRAN: A senior Iranian MP accused Gambia on Tuesday of bowing to pressure from the United States after the tiny African country severed ties with Iran, the official IRNA news agency reported.
"This move is seen as a result of American pressure as well as US policies aimed at damaging Iran's relations with different countries, including in Africa," said Alaeddin Borujerdi, the head of parliament's foreign policy commission.

Troika discusses stronger ties with China
ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Kayani held an important meeting on Tuesday to discuss Pakistan's quest for deepening its ties with China.
Gilani called on Zardari at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, where the COAS was also present, according to an official statement.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Russia have finally decided to enhance their economic and trade cooperation after a limbo of 25 years.
Board of Investment (BOI) Chairman, Saleem H. Mandviwala and Russian Ambassador, Budnik Andrey made this announcement at a joint news conference here on Wednesday.
The Russian Ambassador said Russia considered Pakistan as a key player for economic development in the region.
