LAHORE - Sri Lanka crushed Nepal 20-0 in the second match of the 1st SAARC Baseball Cup, being played at the Punjab Stadium here on Wednesday. Both the teams failed to open their account in their first two innings. Sri Lankan batters scored four runs in the third innings. Perera, Kasthurimugali, Hapuarachi and Karunarathne scored a run each. In the fourth innings, Lankan batters scored three runs through Mahathanthka, Hapuarachi and Mannautum.

Pakistan thrash Afghanistan in SAARC Baseball
LAHORE - Pakistan outclassed Afghanistan 21-1 in the inaugural match of the 1st SAARC Baseball Cup 2011, which commenced here at the Punjab Stadium on Tuesday. The home team thrashed the Afghan pitchers from the very beginning, reaching a score of 14 in the first innings. Batters Arshad Khan and Farooq Khan batted with authority and scored two runs each, with one home run. Sumair, Imtiaz, Zubair Nawaz, Arif Iftikhar, and Asif also made useful contributions. They scored 2 runs each.

MTFA thrash Bay View
LAHORE - Model Town Football Academy U14 team struck thrice in each session to beat Karachi's Bay View High School 6-1 in an IP Challenge clash at MTFA Ground under flood lights. MTFA led 3-0 at interval and struck twice through Ali Akhtar in the 13th and 35th minutes, while Hamza Ali (20th min), Faisal Yazdani (25th min), U Ahmed (46th min) and Raja Hassan Ullah Khan (59th min) added one each.
KESC thrash PEB in Patron’s Trophy
LAHORE - KESC crushed PEB by an innings and 277 runs in their third round match of the Patron's Trophy Grade-II on the third and final day here at the LCCA ground on Thursday. PEB were bowled out for 84 runs in their first innings and then at 74 in their second innings, while KESC hammered 435 runs for six and won the match with a big margin.

LAHORE - Defending champion WAPDA secured their first victory in the 46th National Men's Volleyball Championship, easing past a weak challenge from AJK in straight sets 25-13, 25-14, 25-10 here on Saturday at WAPDA Sports Complex. LAHORE - Balochistan thrashed Sindh by 127 runs in the first round match on day four of the Faysal Bank Pentangular Cup (first class) 2010-2011 here at the LCCA ground on Thursday. Balochistan scored 173 runs in the first innings and later bowled out Sindh for 105 runs to take a 68 runs lead.

LAHORE - HBL and Army Saturday secured easy wins, PIA struggled hard for victory, while NBP and WAPDA played a thrilling draw in the 58th National Hockey Championship, being played at the Faisalabad Hockey Stadium. LAHORE - SSGC, NBP, Army and PIA won their respective matches of the 58th National Hockey Championship, which is in progress at the Faisalabad Hockey Stadium. On Saturday, another four matches were played. SSGC fought hard to beat Navy 5-4, NBP thrashed PTV 4-0, Army struggled to defeat Port Qasim 4-3 and PIA was stretched to its limit by HBL for a 3-2 win.

LAHORE - The Township Police on Wednesday brutally tortured journalists and University of Education (UoE) students on protesting against termination of two varsity faculty members.
