First ‘Youth Theatre Festival’ from 27th
KARACHI - The first 'Youth Theatre Festival' would be organised from April 27, Sindh Minister for Youth Affairs Faisal Ali Subzwari announced on Monday. Presiding over a meeting held at his office, the minister said that the two-day event would be organised in collaboration with the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi.

DCO wants implementation of new theatre policy
LAHORE - Lahore District Coordination Officer (DCO) Ahad Cheema on Saturday ordered implementation of the new theatre policy, which was prepared after consensus of the Alhamra Arts Council, Punjab Home Department, Punjab Excise and Taxation Department, theatre owners and representatives, and the environment district officer's (DO) Staff Officer Tariq Zaman. He was chairing a meeting to review the theatre policy.

LAHORE - A street theatre group 'Goonj' organized a street play "Maut ka Khel" at Jain Mandar Chowk, Lytton Road on Monday. A large number of people from diverse backgrounds came to watch the theatre. LAHORE - A decision was taken on Monday to enforce strict measures to check 'obscene' dances, dual meaning sentences and vulgarity in commercial dramas and stage shows and owners of theatres and cinemas would be held responsible for violation of this code of conduct.

The country is in disarray! This is what the opposition parties and a treasury member, who is a minister too, explained as the National Assembly began its 28th session on Monday. The helplessness of the numbers-weak and crises-ridden government is, however, understandable as the choices for it are limited and problems enormous.
