Thatta to get 150MW of wind power
KARACHI - The Sindh government agreed to provide land for setting up a wind power project in Thatta district with the capacity to produce 150 megawatt electricity on Saturday. Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah approved the project at a meeting held at the Chief Minister House's House. The plant would be established through the public-private partnership mode.

Thatta plant begins palm oil extraction
KARACHI - Industries and Production Federal Minister Mir Hazar Khan Bijrani has indicated that Pakistan has started experimental extraction of palm oil at the first 'palm oil extraction plant' constructed in Thatta district's coastal belt to increase the production of the oil which is presently largely imported.

KARACHI: The Sindh government has acquired 20,000 acres of land in Thatta and Badin to set up crab and shrimp farms - a plan aimed at consolidating the dwindling fishing industry, which is suffering due to a ban on fish imports from Pakistan, and helping fishermen capitalise on market opportunities in Karachi.
