Death toll rises to 47 in flood-hit southern Thailand

BANGKOK - A total of 47 people were confirmed killed by the flash floods and mudslides in southern Thailand, authority said on Tuesday.
The department of Disaster Pravention and Mitigation said Nakorn Si Thammarat is the most deadly province where 20 people died in floods caused by heavy rains that have pummeled the coastline of the Gulf of Thailand since March 23.
