LAHORE - A petition seeking disqualification of Punjab Governor Salman Taseer was declared 'ineffective' by the Lahore High Court on Monday because of Taseer's assassination. Petitioner Chief Executive of Haseeb Waqas Sugar Mills Mian Waqas Riaz had filed a constitutional petition against Taseer through his counsel AK Dogar, pleading that Taseer was not eligible to hold the office of the governor as he was doing his private business which was not permitted under the Constitution.

LAHORE - The Women's Action Forum (WAF) has condemned in the strongest terms the brutal murder of the Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer, "whose principled stand for justice was deliberately and maliciously distorted by extremists in the country in the pursuit of their own political ends".

ISLAMABAD - The Executive Director Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Mahmood Jamal Wednesday handed over the final postmortem report of Punjab Governor Salman Taseer's murder to Muhammad Gulfaraz, a sub-inspector of Kohsar Police Station.
ED PIMS also gave the only bullet removed from the Governor's body to sub-inspector Gulfaraz along with an x-ray. A doctor at PIMS said that the bullet would be sent to forensic science laboratory Lahore for examination.
