LAHORE - Sunni Ittehad Council has announced countrywide strike on Friday (today) to condemn the release of American national Raymond Davis. Traders' wings and businessmen associations have been asked to observe a peaceful strike by closing markets, bazaars and trade centres. Three killed in drone strike
PESHAWAR - Three suspected militants were killed on Wednesday when US-led allied forces in Afghanistan fired missiles from unmanned drones at a vehicle in the border region of North Waziristan on Wednesday.
Two missiles hit the vehicle near the village of Anbur Shaga in the Datakhel area, destroying it completely and killing all three suspected militants on board. The identity of the militants could not be ascertained but tribesmen believe they were foreign militants.

KARACHI - While lawlessness due to failure of the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) is abetting the ongoing criminal activities in the financial hub of Pakistan, the scheduled load shedding by the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) is also lending a helping hand to criminals.

SC seeks details of strike in Sindh
LAHORE - The Supreme Court on Saturday sought details relating the strike observed in Sindh to protest against the apex court's ruling that removed Justice (r) Deedar Hussain Shah as the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman, a private TV channel reported.

KARACHI - The All Pakistan CNG Association has threatened to call a countrywide strike against the government's latest decision to continue with two-day-a-week CNG load shedding. One-day strike costs exchequer Rs 5b, say industrialists
KARACHI - Strikes in the country cost national exchequer at least Rs five billion daily, the industrialists told the government and protested against the recent 9.9 percent hike in petroleum products prices.
