LAHORE - The sixth Inter-zonal Sports Competition is underway under the auspices of TEVTA and Punjab Board of Technical Education Lahore. Central Zone defeated North Zone in a cricket match, while South Zone edged Central Zone in a football match. Central Zone won a hockey match against South Zone. LAHORE - Aziz Ahmed Bilour, Federal Secretary Sports gave a comprehensive briefing to Engr. Shaukat Ullah, Federal Minister for Sports on Tuesday at Islamabad. The secretary apprised the minister about the working and functions of the Sports Ministry and its attached departments. The briefing included thorough details of the 47 on-going development projects across the country. Director General PSB, senior officers of ministry and PSB were also present during the meeting.

Police Inter Range Sports from 16th
LAHORE - The Annual Police Inter-range Sports Championships will start from March 16, with judo competitions at different venues of the province. After the judo event, football, kabaddi (circle), wrestling, kabaddi (Asian), athletics, baseball, weightlifting, hockey, volleyball, basketball, handball, tug of war and bodybuilding contest will be played during the next two months.

Suicide bomber at Afghan sports field kills three
MAZAR-I-SHARIF/KHOST - A suicide bomber detonated explosives strapped to his body at a sports field in northern Afghanistan Saturday killing three and wounding 38, a provincial governor said.
Abdulhaq Shafaq, the Faryab governor, said the attack took place in Shirin Tagab district during a buzkashi game, a traditional sport involving grabbing a dead goat or calf from the ground while riding a horse at full gallop.

LAHORE: Kinnaird College's (KC) Annual Sports Day was held on Friday in the main ground of the college wherein a large number of sportswomen participated while faculty and guests cheered the students. LAHORE - The KIPS Annual Sports 2011were held in WAPDA Sports Complex for both boys and girls here the other day. The event was organised by the Sports Promotion Society and KIPS DPE, former gymnast and project manager of Punjab University Prof. Faisal Fayyaz. Naval Hayat Manget was declared the best athlete and the fastest girl of KIPS College. A special award was given to Nimra Qasim, captain of cricket team.
