Malaysia a second home for Pakistanis

lAHORE - Sesh Haider Consulting would hold four seminars over the course of two days at the Royal Palm Golf and Country Club on April 16 and 17 for the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme, said a press statement released on Thursday. The MM2H programme is an initiative of the government of Malaysia. The seminar will be conducted by a guest speaker from Malaysia, along with representatives from Sesh Haider Consulting, the official liaisons for the MM2H programme locally.

CNG stations’ strike continues for second day in Punjab

LAHORE - Most CNG stations across Punjab remained shut for the second consecutive day as a result of the strike announced by the CNG Association and the Petroleum Retailers Association.
President of the association Ghayas Paracha, announced the strike on Tuesday and said that a shortage in Gas supply is highly unlikely during this season and despite the orders of the president and prime minister, the Sui Northern Gas was still persistent with gas load shedding.

Dengue claims 2011’s second victim

LAHORE - Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Outdoor Patients Department (OPD) ward boy Akhtar Hussain was diagnosed with dengue fever on Tuesday. He is the second dengue patient in Lahore this year after Dr Maryam, a Mayo Hospital medical student. Second major aftershock in a day hits Japan

TOKYO - A second major aftershock measuring 6.3 rocked northeast Japan on Tuesday, swaying buildings in central Tokyo, shortly after the government upgraded its nuclear crisis to that on par with Chernobyl in 1986.
The latest aftershock struck the area of Fukushima, near the crippled Daiichi nuclear plant, said the Japan Meteorological Agency. A 6.3 aftershock hit Chiba prefecture, neighbouring Tokyo, earlier on Tuesday.

KANDAHAR - At least nine people have been killed in the southern Afghan city of Kandahar, officials said on Saturday, on a second day of violent protests over the burning of a Koran by a radical fundamentalist Christian in the United States.
